What it does

• Inboard props sit on a tapered shaft with a key and can seize over time.
• A prop knocker uses shock energy to crack that taper bond so the prop releases.

How it works

• The prop nut is backed off but left on a few threads
• The knocker is placed against the prop hub or shaft
• You strike the knocker with a heavy hammer
• The sudden shock causes the prop to pop free onto the nut
