Buck Algonquin 1.500" Prop Knocker is a precision tool essential to removing boat propellers.
Buck Algonquin Prop Knocker is an affordable alternative to more expensive C-Clamp style pullers. Ideal for occasional use with your backup prop, this harmonic style puller allows you to easily free even the most stubborn props for repair or replacement. The Prop Knocker Puller works on 1" through 3" shafts. Works by screwing puller on to end of shaft and hitting the puller with a hammer. The vibrations the puller causes the prop to back off.
Prop Knocker Dimensions:
- Shaft Size: 1-1/2" (SAE Shafts)
- Tread size: 1-1/8" x 7 NC
- Part # 00PK150
How It Works
- A prop knocker functions by using shock vibrations to break the friction fit between the propeller and the shaft.
- After removing the cotter pin and loosening the prop nut, the knocker is threaded directly onto the end of the propeller shaft in place of the nut.
- The flat end of the tool is struck with a hammer (typically a 2-lb brass or dead-blow hammer).
- The resulting harmonic vibration "jolts" the propeller loose, allowing it to slide off the shaft.
